Using what you find

There are many ways to upcycle unwanted, discarded, broken things. To upcycle or reuse something has a much kinder or smaller impact on the environment when you take into consideration the amount of energy and water needed to recycle materials (e.g. melting and molding plastic to make something new).

These two bits were created by Janet Botes solely from pieces found and picked up while walking in Cape Town. These might seem a bit useless and most of us already have too many trinkets at home that we'd like to get rid of. So have a look at these great examples of upcycling:

Upcycling workshops will soon be facilitated in Cape Town by art.love.nature.
